2020 FALL PROGRAMS

OCTOBER

Pumpkin Decorating Contest.  Now through October 24th.  Pick up a pumpkin at the Library; paint, carve or dress it up as your favorite book character.  Return it to the Library by Saturday, October 24th.  Online and in-Library voting will take place from October 26 – 30.  Winners will be announced and prizes awarded on Saturday, October 31st.  See additional details on the Valatie Free Library Home Page.
Monday, October 12 through Saturday, October 17.  The Great Give Back Day.  The Valatie Free Library is hosting a Food Drive at the Library for the Valatie Food Pantry.  Please bring non-perishable food and toiletries to the Library during regular Library hours.   We will box up the items and bring them to the Valatie Food Pantry.  Monetary donations are also acceptable.   Please help us help the Valatie Community.

Saturday, October 31.  Halloween Book Sale at the Library.  We are accepting donations of gently used books for a Halloween Book Sale.  Come to the Library Parking Lot to browse and find some great reading for the winter.  Take part in a 50-50 raffle.  A goody bag will be available for the children who accompany adults.  Rain Date will be Saturday, November 7th.  There is no parking in our parking lot on the day of the Book Sale, but you may use the side parking area of the Valatie Medical Arts Building.

Library Closed, Friday, November 6:  Installation of New Furnace.

Book Sale, Part 2.  Saturday, November 7 from 9 to 2 in the Library Parking Lot.  Temperature is predicted to be 64 degrees and sunny.  A good day to be outside.

Tech Assistance from Lloyd the Geek, Tuesday, November 10 – Three 45 minute sessions beginning at 3 p.m.   Call the Library to set up a remote appointment.  If you have not yet worked remotely with Heather (Lloyd the Geek), she will walk you through the process of installing the app and then she can troubleshoot on your device.

Gratitude Tree.  What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving?  Write it on a leaf of the Gratitude Tree.  Leaves are provided, and you can fill them out here or take them home and return them later for the tree.  All ages are welcome to do this  project
