Saturday, October 19th is Project Give Back Day at New York State Libraries. On that day libraries will be offering additional services to their communities. To give back to our community, the Valatie Free Library is sponsoring two programs: the Northern Columbia Lions Vision Screening for Preschoolers and a Hannaford Flu Clinic. For additional information, call the Library at 518-758-9321.
From 9 a.m. – noon, the Northern Columbia Lions will conduct vision screening for preschoolers in the Library at 1036 Kinderhook Street. Older children and even adults are also invited to participate. The Lions provide this service several times a year to area preschoolers. Join us; there is plenty of parking.
From noon – 2 p.m. or later if needed, Hannaford will conduct a flu clinic at the Library. Flu shots, the new shingles shots, pneumonia shots, tetanus/whooping cough shots will be available. Flu shots will also be available for ages 4 and older if guardians are present. Flu and pneumonia shots are free with insurance. Please bring your medicare/prescription card with you to the clinic. *Shingles shots and Tetanus/Whooping Cough shots sometimes have a copay. Please call Hannaford Pharmacy in Valatie at 518-758-8866 beforehand with your insurance information if you are interested in one of these vaccines or have questions.
