New York State libraries are important sources of enjoyment (books and media), education (research) learning life skills (applying for jobs, learning how to use today’s technology). They also save patrons money, and in most cases, that savings is significant. However, in the Governor’s proposed 2019 budget, funding for libraries throughout New York State is five million dollars less than what was in last year’s enacted state budget. If you oppose this cut, please contact your legislators to let them know that we need their support for libraries. You can easily do this in less than 3 minutes by clicking here and completing the brief form on the New York Library Association page. When you complete the form, click the SUBMIT button. You will be able to read the brief letter being sent to the legislators. Click SUBMIT again. Thank you to all who help state libraries by doing this. Now check out these pictures of Valatie Free Library patrons who saved an amazing amount of money by using the Library. Thank you to these supporters who let us take and post their pictures.
