September 2019 Programs for Kids

Monday, September 16 (noon – 5 p.m.)  Play Doh Day.  Make something using homemade play doh.  Ages 5 – 10 are invited.
Tuesdays, September 10, 17, 24 (10:30 a.m.)  Story Hour for Preschoolers.  Join Ms. Lauren and Ms. Marje and therapy dog Rosie for stories, craft and snacks.
Wednesdays, September 18 and 25 (TBD) Programs for Homeschoolers.  Topics to be Determined.
Wednesday, September 25 (noon – 5 p.m.) Make your own comic strips.  All ages are welcome.  Materials will be provided.
Saturday, September 21 (TBD) World Gratitude Day.  Put leaves on the Gratitude Tree.  All ages are welcome.
Lego Days.  Any day of the week until 5 p.m.  We have traditional Lego bricks and Duplos.  Make something special.

September 2019 Programs for Adults

Monday, September 9 (7 p.m.) Book Club.  Join us to discuss your favorite reads of the summer.  All are welcome.
Monday, September 16 (7 p.m.) Board of Trustees Meeting.  The Public is welcome to attend.
September 1 – 30 (during open hours) Library Card Signup Month.  If you don’t have a library card, visit the Library and sign up for one.  They are free.  With a library card you can borrow books and DVDs, download e-books, audio books and magazines.  Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, etc. and sign them up for a library card too.

October 2019 Programs for Kids

Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 (10:30 a.m.)  Story Hour for Preschoolers.  Join Ms. Lauren and Ms. Marje and therapy dog Rosie for stories, craft and snacks.
Wednesdays, October (TBD) Programs for Homeschoolers.  Topics to be Determined.
Tuesday, October 15 (noon – 5). Creation Station. Using words cut out of magazines, create a poem. Let us copy them, and we will post them in the Library. Be a famous local author at the Valatie Free Library. All ages are welcome.
Thursday, October 31 Halloween Trick or Treat (3 – 6). Drop in and show us your costume or just drop in to get a treat.
TBD Halloween Party Join us for games, mystery, food and fun.

October 2019 Programs for Adults

Monday, October 14 (7 p.m.) Book Club.  Read either One Hundred Years of Solitude or Love in the Time of Cholera, both by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and then join us to discuss both. Newcomers are welcome to join at any time even if you have not read the book being discussed.
Saturday, October 19 Community Events
(9 a.m. – noon) the Northern Columbia Lions will conduct preschool vision screening.  Call the Library (518-758-9321) for contact information.
(Noon – 3 p.m.) Hannaford will present an onsite flu clinic.  Hannaford Pharmacy accepts the majority of insurance plans, and the flu shot would likely be covered in full.  They simply ask all patients for their insurance cards at the time of the clinic. There is no cost to you to have a pharmacist certified to administer immunizations come and host the clinic.  
Monday, October 21 (7 p.m.) Board of Trustees Meeting. The Public is welcome to attend.

November 2019 Programs for Kids

Monday, November 4 – 8 (noon-5) International Games Week. Drop in any day to play one of our board games.
Tuesdays, November 5, 12, 19, 26 (10:30 a.m.) Story Hour for Preschoolers.  Join Ms. Lauren and Ms. Marje and therapy dog Rosie for stories, craft and snacks.
Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29:  Library Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday.
