VALATIE FREE LIBRARY 2018 SPRING EVENTS

APRIL

Sunday, April 8th from 2 – 4 p.m. in the Valatie Senior Center – Annual Photo Exhibit.

Mondays:
April 9th at 7 p.m. – Book Club.  We will be discussing Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham.  Newcomers are always welcome.
April 16th at 7 p.m. – Board of Trustees Meeting.  The Public is welcome to attend.
April 23rd at 7 p.m.   Knitting / Crochet.  Newcomers are welcome.

Tuesdays:
April 3, 10, 17, 24 at 10:30 a.m. –
Story Hour for Preschoolers and Parents/Caregivers.  Join Ms. Lauren for stories, craft and snack.

Wednesdays:
April 4th at 10:30 a.m. – Relief Printing with Mary Young.  Make several prints using different techniques.  Materials include Styrofoam, found objects, and more… Ages 6+ Please call or stop in the Library to register.
April 11th from 4:30 – 6:45 p.m. – Individual Computer Assistance from Heather Lloyd (Lloyd the Geek). Bring your  computer, laptop, cellphone, e-reader, and Heather will troubleshoot any problems you may have.  Call 518-758-9321 to register.

Fridays:
April 6th at 10:30 a.m.
– Paint and Sip for Kids with Amy DeWeerd.  Amy will be reading her new book, How a Mother 
Loves, and will give us step by step directions about how to create some cute characters on canvas. Ages 5 to 10
April 13th at 6:30 p.m.  Paint and Sip for Adults with Amy and Hannah DeWeerd.  Join us at 6:30 p.m. in the Library t0 paint a design and enjoy some light refreshments. Anyone can create a picture to be proud of!  Please call or stop in the Library to register.
April 20th at 6:30 p.m. – Pizza/Astronomy.  Join us for pizza and an astronomy activity/program to be determined.  Call the Library to register.

Saturday:
April 21st at 2:30 p.m.  John Gray of Channel 10 News, will be at the Library to read, discuss and sign his children’s book, God Needed a Puppy. All ages are welcome to attend.

MAY

Mondays:
May 14 – 7 p.m.  Book Club.  The group will be discussing One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus.  Newcomers are welcome to attend.
May 21 – 7 p.m.  Board of Trustees Meeting.  The Public is welcome to attend.

Tuesdays:
May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 – 10:30 a.m.  Story Hour for preschoolers and parents/caregivers.  Join us for stories, craft and snack.
May 8 – 6:30 p.m.  Mother’s Day Craft for Children, ages 6 and older.  Children under 6 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.  Registration is necessary for this program.  Call 518-758-9321 to register.

Friday:
May 4 – All Day (10a.m. – 5 p.m.) “May the Fourth Be With You!”  Children of all ages may stop in the Library to do a Star Wars craft.

LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY, MAY 26 AND MONDAY MAY 28 FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.

JUNE

Mondays:

June 11 – All Day.  Registration for Summer Program begins.  Call or visit the Library to register.
June 11 – 7 p.m. Book Club.  The group will discuss The Baker’s Secret and skype with Stephen Kiernan, the author of the novel.  Guests are welcome.
June 18 – 7 p.m. Board of Trustees Meeting.  The Public is welcome to attend.
June 25 – 7 p.m. Knitting/Crochet.  Newcomers are always welcome.

June 5, 12, 19, 26 – 10:30 a.m.

June 27 – 6:30 p.m
.  Summer Program begins with an interactive presentation by the Storycrafters.

Thursday:
June 28 – 1 – 2:30 p.m.  Fran Martino conducts a workshop, Fish Printing.
